Steve

Steve is the owner & director of BodyGuards gym, and has a background in long distance running coaching, and strength & conditioning training.

He moved to the North East from London “just for a year” in 2019.

In his spare time he fosters trainee guide dogs, and likes to sew, making a lot of his own clothes.

Duncan

Dunk has been part of the team since 2001 and brings decades of experience to his coaching, specialising in biomechanics, injury rehab, and strength & conditioning.

Dunk takes a holistic approach to help clients move better, feel stronger, and build long-term health through smart training and lifestyle habits.

Lindsay

Lindsay has been part of the team since 2009 and brings a wide range of experience across different sports and loves helping people improve their fitness, strength, and overall wellbeing.

With a friendly, professional approach, Lindsay delivers sessions that are varied, effective, and tailored to each individual.

Duncan

Duncan joined the team in 2012, bringing a strong mix of science and sport from his PhD in chemistry and years playing semi-professional football.

He takes a holistic approach to coaching, focusing on movement, mobility, strength, and overall health.

Passionate about helping people feel and function better, Duncan keeps training practical, effective, and enjoyable.

Sarah has a strong background in football, having played in the FA Women’s Super League and captained at university level.

She’s passionate about helping people feel stronger, more confident, and enjoy their training.

Sarah works with a wide range of clients, making fitness fun, accessible, and tailored to each individual.

Anthony

Anthony joined the team with several years of experience as a personal trainer and as an ice hockey player for Whitley Bay Warriors.

He balances his time at BodyGuards with his work in the Fire Service and ice hockey practice.

He holds a masters degree in strength and conditioning and enjoys working with people on a wide range of goals from strength and muscle building, weight loss, and endurance training.
